Assertiveness Awareness Tool

Assertiveness is the ability to accurately, directly and respectfully express your feelings, opinions, beliefs and concerns to others – regardless of the circumstances or situation. Interactions with family members, friends, co-workers, and supervisors all require a certain level of assertiveness. This awareness tool provides an opportunity to measure your interpersonal assertiveness. Remember that this is not a diagnostic tool. It is intended to help you better understand how your communication style influences your interaction with others.

Disclaimer: This tool is meant to increase awareness of your own assertiveness and assertive behaviours. This tool is not to be used to diagnose any condition. A thorough evaluation by your physician or other health care provider is required to diagnose any mood, impulse control, or behavioural condition. If you are concerned about your interpersonal relationship skills book an appointment to see a Hurst Place counsellor.
